GUIDANCE FOR
CLEANING & DISINFECTING

SAFELY ADMINISTERING VAC STEREO TESTS:

  • Ensure the test administrator thoroughly washes hands each time before using the Stereo Test.

  • The test administrator should hold the test booklet/cards for the patient to eliminate patient contact with the Stereo Test.

  • The test administrator can wear powder-free exam gloves when handling the Stereo Test to eliminate the need for disinfecting/cleaning Stereo Test before each use.

DISINFECTING VAC STEREO TESTS:

  • Disinfect vectographic prints/cards using an alcohol swab or dampen soft, lint-free cloth using water with mild antibacterial detergent.  Do not immerse vectographic prints/cards.  Do not spray directly onto vectographic prints/cards.

  • After disinfecting, clean/polish vectographic prints/cards using lens/glass cleaner applied to a soft, lint-free cloth to remove any residue (streaks/smudges) left by the disinfectant. Do not spray directly onto vectographic prints/cards.

  • Disinfect test booklet using rubbing alcohol.

  • Disinfect polarized Viewer frame with water and mild antibacterial detergent or by applying rubbing alcohol to the temples and nose piece. Do not apply rubbing alcohol to the polarized lenses.

  • Clean polarized lenses using lens cleaner and soft, lint-free cloth​​​​.

SAFELY USING VAC VECTOGRAPHS:

  • Ensure the patient/test administrator thoroughly washes hands each time before using the Vectograph.
  • The test administrator can hold/move the vectographic panels for the patient to eliminate patient contact with the Vectograph.

  • The patient/test administrator can wear powder-free exam gloves when handling the Vectograph to eliminate the need for disinfecting/cleaning the vectographic prints and guide before each use.                                                                                                                                                   

DISINFECTING VAC VECTOGRAPHS

  • Disinfect vectographic prints and plastic guide using an alcohol swab or dampen soft, lint-free cloth using water with mild antibacterial detergent. Do not immerse Vectograph.

  • After disinfecting, clean/polish vectographic prints and guide, using lens/glass cleaner applied to a soft, lint-free cloth to remove any residue (streaks/smudges) left by the disinfectant. Do not spray directly onto Vectograph.

  • Disinfect Vectograph binder using rubbing alcohol.

  • Disinfect polarized Viewer frame with water and mild antibacterial detergent or by applying rubbing alcohol to the temples and nose piece. Do not apply rubbing alcohol to the polarized lenses.

  • Clean polarized lenses using lens cleaner and soft, lint-free cloth.
